Worship Expectations
Jesus taught how those who followed Him were to worship. He declared, “God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). He also said that additions, subtractions and innovations are unacceptable (Matthew 15:9).
The Christians at the Church of Christ collectively seek to follow the simple and spiritual pattern of worship revealed in the New Testament. Therefore, in our assemblies one can expect the following.
1. The Lord's Supper
2. Congregational Singing
3. Bible Preaching
4. Praying
5. Voluntary Contribution
Description of Services
These five acts of worship are clearly identified and approved of God as seen in the New Testament.
Since Christians are commanded to meet regularly (Hebrews 10:24, 25), the faithful seek every opportunity to assemble for worship accepting and practicing only those things for which there is clear Biblical authority (I Thessalonians 5:21).
1. The memorial feast of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine, observed each Lord’s day in commemoration of Christ’s death (Acts 2:24, 20:7; I Cor. 11:23-26).
2. Vocal songs of praise, encouragement and education in spiritual truths (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)
3. Simple and understandable studies from God’s word to exhort, rebuke and build faith (Acts 2:42, 20:7)
4. Humble appeals of petition and thankfulness to God through Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:42; I Thessalonians 5:17
5. A free will collection from among the members each Lord’s day to carry out the scriptural work of the church (I Corinthians 16:1, 2; 2 Corinthians 9:6,7).
Hello, my name is James Lee, I am a native of Perry, Florida, which is approximately 100 miles East of Eastpoint, FL on Highway 98. I graduated in May of 1997 with a BA degree in Bible from the International Bible College (now Heritage Christian University). Since that time my wife, Susan, and I have been involved in stateside mission work. It is our desire to establish and grow the Lord's church in Franklin County, Florida. Evangelism Missions is a new missions program we started to help with this effort.
In the past five years Franklin County has had tremendous growth. CNN recently aired a program about the top ten places to live in the USA, and Franklin County was included in this list. This area of Florida has been known as the forgotten coast. However, this is no longer true. People are moving into this area at a rapid pace, yet Franklin County is one of the few counties in Florida that had no church of Christ.
Franklin County has a population of about 12,000 souls. Maybe you have heard of this area but are not familiar with it. It consists of St. George Island, Lanark Village, Apalachicola, Carrabelle, Alligator Point, and Eastpoint. It's a great family vacation spot about 65 miles East of Panama City.

No Church of Christ in Franklin County until 2005
Evangelism Missions' desire is to serve the Lord and to plant the Lord's church where there is none. Franklin County is one of the few counties in Florida that had no church until we started it in 2005 with several supporting congregations.
Our plan is simply to preach the unsearchable riches of Christ in truth and love. Let's continue to grow the Lord's church in Franklin County. Please prayerfully consider helping us with this work.
